Harajuko and the lights of Akihabara

Day 2 in Tokyo.

We were requested to explore two areas, Harajuko and Akihabara.

We arrived early in the morning to Haraujo and our challenges were: find the Harajuko girls (lolitas, pinups, gotics, etc.) and Justin had to busker to buy food. Apparently every Sunday people gather around Harajuko and specially at Takashita st. to hang out.. You will be able to see a bunch of people with really crazy and amazing outfits.

One of the challenges was for Justin and he had to busker and make enough money to buy lunch. He did it well and people really enjoyed but we found that people who play at the streets usually don't ask for money, but Justin managed to get some and he succeed buying lunch!

After we took a stroll to Akihabar, the light district, very very big lights. We had to find a maid cafe so for you guys who might be wondering what is it, basically it's a cafe where the waitress are dress up like maid and they serve you like Japanese maid. It was such a cool experience and we had a really good time trying to find out how worked because was no way to understand a word and they were unable to speak any English. Unfortunately we can't show pictures of that place, but on the other hand Justin had a small concert too.

The Shibuya Shuffle _ Tiny Everything

Hey ya`ll
We are mad excited about today`s adventure in Tokyo.  The plan is learn some japanese real quick like and see if we can make some friends.  We plan on staying in a Capusule Hotel tonight, which for those in the know is basically a hotel room that is a Pod.  You sleep in a giant drawer and I cant wait for that tuberiffic experience.

We got to check out Hachiko last night in Shibuya who was a very loyal dog that followed his master everywhere...  when the poor master <a professor at a university> died of a heart attack at work. Hachiko still waited for him to come home each day.  When he didnt arrive he started going to the subway station at Shibuya and would wait every single day there for him.  After months people started feeding him and were impressed with his loyalty and heart.   Hachiko went each day until he passed, always waiting for his master and friend to arrive.  

Also popular with the teenage and superfreak crowd are Purikura photo booths.  Huge arcade like places with giant photo booths that alter your pics. There were big groups of young people getting there hair did, eyes blown up and we managed to get that pretty pink bow on Nabil`s head.

Also check out how stupid big my flat feet are in the tiny Japanese slippers they give you. Im like a three toed sloth.   Everything is tiny here.  Sweet.

Where the Hell am I going  continues!

First news from Tokyo

So here we are, in Tokyo!!

We have been up for 28 hours straight and had our first experiencesa and encounters.

The trip from the airport to Tokyo was really simple and we want to give a big thanks to HIS Toronto for proving the transportation!!

So, because we were eager to explore the city we decided to find our hotel by walk, and what it could take about 20 min (if you know the way) was 1,30h for us but need to say, there is no barely street names and a grid system is something that sometimes we take for granted.

We checked at our hotel around 7.50pm and discovered that we had our first challenge from our ISX Staff. Meet at 9pm at Maoi statue to see the famous dog statue Hachiko. We managed to get the correct train tickets (it has been a really difficult task for our brains at that point) and met with Ryo who has been with us this night.

We would love to explain way more but we are barely concious so more updates will be tomorrow.

Tokyo Japan!

Just 3 more days! - ¡Sólo 3 días!

In just three more days Justin and I will be going to somewhere on this world, and still no clue where it could be! 

So, for a second try to be in our shoes. What would be the first thing that come into your mind? Would you feel nervous, anxious, or walking on air? If you were just allowed to bring your carry on, what would you take with you? 

The best thing about all this, you don't have to be stressed out in your packing, because actually you don't know where the hell you are going. So, what is the point to be worry?

On the other hand, you can check how we were training hard for this upcoming adventure, each one on his own way.

Por un segundo intenta ponerte en nuestra piel. ¿Qué sería lo primero que vendría a tu mente? ¿Te sentirías nervioso, ansioso o caminando sobre una nube? Si sólo pudieras llevar tu equipaje de mano, ¿qué llevarías contigo?

Lo mejor de todo, no hay motivo de estar estresado por el equipaje, porque no sabes a donde vas a ir ni qué deberías llevar, entonces ¿por qué estar preocupado?

Por otra parte, puedes ver como hemos estado entrenando duro para la siguiente aventura, cada uno a nuestra manera.
